Maya Shelf Script - animPathTracer [FREE]
A Python script for Maya that let's you trace the trajectory of animated objects.
Select points/vertices/faces/meshes and click AnimPathTracer to trace the path of your animated objects.
Useful to:
- find out what motion complex joint chains describe (my use case ;)
- make particle trails/ribbons that follow vertices of animated meshes
- check/limit trajectory
- and more...
Basically the inverse of "Attach to Motion Path" :D
Thanks to all the people that helped me put this together... and watch out for the next versions, with more adjustable parameters ;)
HOW TO INSTALL
1 - Download archive file from https://azrafe7.gumroad.com/l/animPathTracer_free (location of download does not matter)
2 - Extract the files
3 - Drag and drop the "install.mel" file into Maya
4 - Done! The script should be on your current shelf
You can now delete all files. All needed files have been copied to your maya preferences :)
